Photos and video of some of the labs and other assignments from my 3rd semester at this program at Idaho State University.
Taking apart a decommissioned PC to help identify the name and location of the main computer parts from our IT-OT: Fundamentals of Technology class.
Using a Raspberry Pi with LEDs and Python programming to make a simulated traffic light.
Using the Raspberry Pi with a DC to AC relay adapter and Node-Red programming to control turning the light bulb on or off with a mouse click.
One of the many wiring board assignments. This one was an extra credit assignment(out of my class, I was the only one to make time to build it) involving a start/stop button, and a manual mode and automatic mode(to make one full rotation exactly each time using feedback from the sensor and a metal part on the wheel).
This board was a required lab and was a full system including a buzzer (to indicate imminent system start), a timer to delay the start/stop, a pneumatic solenoid, and a DC fan.
A board lab involving an AC and DC system, with only AC power on the right side for the switches, and DC power on the left board, for the lights and the motor. Includes a start/stop, direction control, and power/direction indication lights.
The stoplight PLC program. made using sequencers. Includes a night/day sequencers, and indicators for the cars, as well as buttons to request a pedestrian to cross.
Note: all of these are controlled by programming on the 5000 series PLCs. The Factory I/O scenes were already made, and we made the program (and edited scenes as needed). This one separates the items by color onto different belts.
This scene converges two conveyor belt lines into one, without any crashing. I was the only student to complete both the separate and converge scenes.
This is an elevator scene that collects 5 units into a tote and then gets a new tote. I was the only student to even start this one (not for a grade) and completed it outside of class time after finals.
